Maruti Suzuki Ertiga
Maruti Suzuki launched its 7-seater MUV which they tagged as LUV Ertiga. They define LUV as Life Utility Vehicle which is priced competitively at Rs 5.89 Lakhs for the base model of petrol. It is made available in 7 variants with the petrol engine equipped with a 1.4L K-series petrol engine with a maximum power of 93.8 bhp and a maximum torque of 130 Nm whereas the diesel engine is equipped with a 1.3L 16 Valve Multijet with a maximum power of 88.8 bhp and a maximum torque of 200 Nm. It is a possible competitor with Chevrolet Tavera and Mahindra Xylo.
Hyundai Verna Fluidic
Claimed to be the safest car in its segment, Hyundai Vena Fluidic was launched in 2011 In India. It is said to compete with Volkswagen Vento, Maruti SX4, Honda City, among others. It is designed with new head lights, tail lights, fog lights, bonnet, boot and alloy wheels. The top end model of the fluidic Verna comes with power steering, leather upholstery, power windows, automatic climate control system, SRS airbags, front and rear disk brakes, parking sensors, ABS and EBD. It comes in 5 variants which includes a 1.6L 4 speed automatic in petrol and diesel. It has a maximum power of 122 bhp and a maximum torque of 158 Nm for the petrol engine whereas the diesel engine generates 126 bhp maximum power and 265 Nm maximum torque.

Toyota launched the new 2012 model of Fortuner in the Auto Expo in New Delhi. It shares the same platform with the MPV Innova. It is considered to be robust, affordable and a comfortable SUV. Fortuner is equipped with massive comfort and safety features. It is expected to be a stiff competitor to the Honda CRV, Chevrolet Captiva, Mitsubishi Outlander and Ford Endeavour. It is available in 3 variants with a powerful 3.0L diesel engine which generates 170 bhp maximum power and 343 Nm maximum torque.

Mahindra and Mahindra launched its all new world SUV and named it as XUV 500. It has a similar m-Hawk diesel engine as the Scorpio which is fine tuned to get a maximum power of 140 bhp and a maximum torque of 330 Nm. It has been priced very competitively at Rs 11.10 lakhs.The XUV500 comes in three variants which includes an all-wheel drive. It is equipped with static bending projector head lamps with LED parking lights, monochrome infotainment display, rain sensing wipers, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, power steering, fully automatic temperature control, voice command switches, power windows, umbrella holder, ESP and telescopic steering technologies. The base model is named as corporate model and is priced competitively at 6.99 lakhs. It features all new front grille, new front and rear bumpers, electric sunroof. The front of the car is inspired by the European model of Civic and has a sporty exhaust. The safety features include dual SRS airbags, ABS, EBD and BA. It is powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine which develops a power of 118 bhp and a torque of 146 Nm.
